Officers

Christina Geary Gorbecki, President

Chrissy attended and graduated from New Milford’s schools going on to get a masters in education. In 2007, she joined the JPMSF Board of Trustees and soon after became secretary for the scholarship fund. In 2024, Chrissy graciously accepted the role as President of the Board. It is her pleasure to have the opportunity to meet so many incredible graduating seniors each year, while working alongside an amazing group of local educators, business owners, New Milford High School alumni, and community members.


Tim Herring, Co-Vice President

Tim has served as a member of the Board of Trustees since 2013. He is a 1997 graduate of New Milford High School who earned his bachelor’s degree from George Washington University and his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law. He practices law in Danbury at the law firm of Chipman Mazzucco Emerson LLC and resides in New Milford with his wife and two children.

Daniel Drew, Co-Vice President

Dan joined the Board of Trustees in 2006 and returned to the board in 2021. He is a 1998 graduate of New Milford High School who earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and his master’s from Columbia University. He served eight years as Mayor of Middletown, Connecticut. Dan lives in New Milford with his wife and four children.


Sarah Conn Herring, Secretary

Lifelong resident of New Milford and teacher in the New Milford Public Schools. Sarah joined the JPMSF board in 1994 after the passing of her brother, board member W. Timothy Conn


Stephen Paduano, Treasurer


Jennifer LaCava

Jennifer has been on the board since 2017. She is an English teacher at NMHS and the advisor to the Interact Club. She also serves on the FRIENDS of New Milford Library Board, and on the Library Modernization Committee. She loves living and working in New Milford, and enjoys serving her community through volunteering. Her favorite part about being on the Scholarship Committee is getting to talk to all the fabulous students that are so excited for their future beyond NMHS.


Laurie Rowe LePage

I have lived in New Milford since 1973. A graduate of Norwalk High School, I earned my bachelor's degree in Human Services from Post University and my master's in Business from Fairfield University. I am a director at TBICO, a non-profit agency in Danbury. I joined the JPMSF Board of Trustees in 2014, when a scholarship was created in memory of my son, Mike.
